Christmas Ink Blend with Catherine Pooler Designs Inks

I'm hosting the Card Maker Success Summit later this month and Catherine Pooler Designs is one of our sponsors. They sent me a box of goodies and this is one of the cards that I created to share with you.

But first, let's talk about the Card Maker Success Summit.

Something I've become more and more passionate about over the last two years is getting a game plan to create my holiday cards early in the season.

As I became a card maker a few years ago, I started creating Christmas cards for all of my friends and family. Soon they came to expect awesome WOW type Christmas cards, so the pressure was on.

I found that I was waiting until the last minute to create the cards and it put so much stress on me. So I decided to get a game plan and start my holiday card making project earlier in the season. It’s never early to start your card making projects of any kind, particularly holiday cards.

And through that journey, I’ve found that I love helping card makers do the same. That is, to get inspired to start their Christmas Card-Making project early and gain confidence by learning from 25+ awesome card makers experts.

That's why I'm so excited to bring this free 4-day event to you!

You can learn absolutely everything you’d ever want to know about the summit over here, but as a quick overview:

  • The summit will run from July 15th through July 18th.
  • Each day will be packed with amazing speakers who are ready to help you create a card making plan that will minimize stress, let you get your cards done early and create beautiful professional hand crafted cardsthat will WOW your friends and family.
  • We’ve got a pop-up Facebook group where you’ll find crafting friends, connect with other card makers, ask the speakers questions, and whatever else we come up with!
  • You can attend the summit absolutely free, but you can choose to grab the VIP All-Access Pass at any time during the summit. The VIP All-Access Pass will give you an all inclusive pass to the summit (meaning you get all the videos for life or at least until my Stamp Me Some Love business is around).

The VIP All-Access Pass is currently being offered at a special price, and it will disappear for good once the summit is over, so start thinking about now!

Are you excited?! (I sure am!)

Head over to the website to learn more and grab your free ticket. More information will be sent straight to your inbox afterwards.

I can't wait to kick this thing off!

Ok on to the card details!

So I'm going to be honest here.  Although I am very familiar with the Catherine Pooler Designs Brand, I have only tried her stamps.  I had never tried their inks. So when the opportunity came up for them to send me some product to try.... I was delighted!

The folks over at CPD were very generous with what they sent me and I got a little of everything. But I am most impressed with the quality of the inks.

I decided to do an ink blend ombre background with 3 different colors. The colors I choose were Aquantini, Daydream, and Juniper Mist.  I just love using blue colors for Christmas cards.  And these three colors seemed to go so well with each other.

I was amazed at how smooth and juicy these inks were. They blended so easily on the Neenah Solar White Crest cardstock that I used.

Next I used the Snowfall stencil and some modeling paste to create iredecsant white snow flakes on top of the ink blended background.  I set it to the side to dry and went on to the sentiment.

I did not have a color card stock that matched the Aquatini color, so I just made my own.  I took the ink pad and brushed it over the cardstock and voila! I now had a cardstock that perfectly matched the background.

For the rest, I just heat embossed the sentiment and added some rhinestones for some embellishment. The "warm" sentiment is inked with the Juniper Mist color.

The background panel is cut down to 5" x 3.75" and is mounted on a whit card panel 5.25"x 4.0".

The card base is one of our cardstocks from My Colors and the color is Deep Blue and I think it coordinated perfectly!

Great card! Love the colors of Catherine Pooler inks! I thought I was going to get a coupon to use to buy her inks when I signed up for the VIP pass. But its only 20 % off her full sign ink pads. I don’t have room for that and I like the small pads to get ink on just where I want it.
